About me

I am currently an associate professor in the Computer Science Department at BUCT, working in the visual media group.

I was born in 1979, Jiangxi province of China. In 1995, I was enrolled in the Computer Science Department at Dalian University of Technology. I recieved the Ph.D degree from the Computer Science Department at Tsinghua University in 2006, under the guidance of Prof. Kaihuai Qin. I visited the Computer Science Department of CUHK as a research assistant in 2005, supervised by Prof. Hanqiu Sun, Before joining BUCT in 2008, I worked for a start-up company as the technology director.

My research interests are in computer graphics and computer vision, in particular in face recognition, real-time global illumination rendering, image editing, image recognition, and multiple-projector based tiled display.


I teach two courses, Advanced Computer Graphics is for graduate students, and Digital Media Computing is for undergraduate students

Face/Vehicle Recoginition Solution

We offer a complete face/vehicle recognition solution, which can employ PC, Android, or custom AI chips to provide detection, tracking, verification and identification services. The solution has been applied in many large projects.

Multiple Projector based Tiled Display

Multi-projector, large-scale displays are broadly used in visually intensive applications. Since 2007, I have solely developed a software (DPMPro) for constructing a multi-projector tiled-display system automatically with the help of one or multiple DSLR cameras. DPMPro is very suitable for large arbitrary display surfaces, and currently is a commercial product widely used in China. The largest scale system built with our software is located in Luoyang, China, with 9 PCs and 19 full HD projectors collaborated together to display an active stereo video with 80 million pixels per frame. Super Web Master

Super Web Master is an internet visiting management software, which has over 100,000 copies sold. I solely developed this software in 2000. The project won National Innovation Fund For Technology Based Firms funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China in 2001. (No. 01C26222120814).
